I was having some thoughts and want to add to this discussion, as no comments have been posted yet. I have been going through some character ideas, which helps me go through the Players Handbook a bit more thoroughly, and get to know the rules and mechanics better. Of course these are all ideas as replacement characters, for me, but also just food for discussion.
Will we be having Half-Orcs as player characters? I would never have really thought of playing one, and I really didn't see how they would work out, but as we are up North, I put a few things together, and I thought an interesting background to play would be a Half Ork that had gone through the Rite of Frost Binding and has faith in Hrotheena (but of course I was thinking a berserker Barbarian, but who knows, multi class warlock, cleric?), and had been fighting against the Lich Lords, and may have even fought side-by side with the Exillion at some point, and was tasked to join with and fight side by side with her spiritual sister's (Merkaine) followers in the Heartlands, The Gallants.
Anyway I was just looking at Half-Orc and I am not sure if they could work as Gallants or not, or as player characters in our game. It would seem half orcs would have to have a very good background story to fit in.
Just adding some comments to help the conversion along, with the thoughts that roam around in my head
Also, I was back pondering the Elon and the Bronzemen as possible backups. The Bronzemen seem like they would be either clerics or Totem Warriors, and they seem similar to the Pine Tribes Men, though the description of them was never fully fleshed out, but they do seem very cool, but maybe too similar to Chotla and/or Iziah's character, but again, they seem cool.
And the Elon.. i actually came up with a character concept years ago using your description that they secretly follow Elancil, though it is publicly frowned upon in their culture. And this time was a concept that would use that as a background: a character that has mulitclassing warlock to Elancil as a secondary class, and the obvious main class for a Elon seems to be fighter or thief, but maybe there could be others.
The concept being that the clan/family has a millenia long warlock bond to Elancil for either protection, provision/survival or helping with thieving, etc. And that is why they have survived. The thought with this is that I wanted to examine the "gypsy magic" side of the Elon, if there is such a thing, as I really didn't tap much into the cultural thing with Thom Vynt. And I was wondering if a bard of Valor could possible work for an Elon, though it seems like a bards training maybe more structured, and would require some sort of magical/wizard type master, but given the traveling life of the elon and their songs, dancing and acting and culture is exotic in the lands maybe there could be something of a bard in that. And the Elon don't seem to fit in with totem warrior, as they are not barbarians, but nomadic. But just thoughts I had. The Elancil thing maybe either too complex to throw in at this very very early part of transition, or it would be something that would just work out at all. But I was thinking the Elon worship or bond to Elancil as a different aspect than that of the Gwinnish, but maybe any sort of spiritual connection to Elancil would preclude anyone being connected to The Gallants, given our long-standing fighting and countering her and her chosen people though generations of Gallants.
And the connection of both this type of character or the Bronzeman would be The Gallant involvement with the Umbakian invasion of their lands and how we persevered and drove them out (or they left..but we got the Golden Child and they didn't).
And one more thing, this regarding the Fey Ancestry. Your concept of the Soul Gem for elves (Faerie) is so very cool, so I am not sure how much you are going to add regarding The Fey, the Feywild, or Fey Ancestry from DnD...
And mixing ideas here, it seems the in the DnD world for our conversion, adds this Feywild as a plane, and Incarna didn't have a corresponding realm, but our Realm of Shadows follows theirs, and Our Realm of Radiance sounds like it reflects DnD Positive Plane, and our Void reflects the DnD Negative Plane. Is this correct?

Ok, well, just more thoughts on my thoughts - I forgot that Batsu/Sweets was a Half Ork, so we have had one in our adventures recently as Gallants (I was thinking all of our tanks have been Grollen, but then I remembered this). My thought I posted above was because I was thinking the Half Orks might still be affected by the Sun Bane, but I don't think Batsu was.
In regards to The Elon, Elancil and the Gallants, the other reason a connection to Elancil by anyone affiliated/bonded with the Gallants might not work out well is that I forgot to mention that she seems pretty Evil, though maybe she is just misunderstood - you classified her as an "Old One" so that could have many angles, so maybe worshiping/following different domains/aspects of a deity may bring a different version of them out, and it would seem there are Elancil worshipers in Dunstrand/Gladnor who are NOT Gwinnish sympathizers, or maybe Elancil just wants to destroy us and dominate Gladnor no matter what domain or aspect of hers is around...
And regarding the Faerie...I had looked over again the Elven creation myth, and maybe I was misunderstanding some of the Faerie and Elven background...They are not made up of only rainbows, unicorns, and sunshine...Each one of them has The Fey in them, and they choose not to follow it..but each has the potential for darkness, craziness and insanity...is this why Elves without a soul gem are destroyed because their genetic make up allows them to do this, to follow and become darkness? And after looking at the myth more closely, I may have a better understanding of why having a unbonded Soul Gem for a half elf would allow for more Primal reactions, as they are tapping a bit into the Fae a bit...though it would seem the anger of the half elf is more genetic with the bonding of the more alien faerie with the mundane human, with or without a soul gem. But does this also mean that half elves with an unbonded soul gem could take the path of Tiratha-Dodor Ve Mane (well, it's a cool name, The Garden of Evil Sunsets Where Shadows Swallow All) or does their humanity preclude them from this? (Not that Taelin would ever do this...). And I guess the other thing I was looking at is if a half elf doesn't have a soul gem, do they still have Fey Ancestry, or something like that?
And I took the Virtuous code for Taelin so I wouldn't have to play Taelin as crazy uncontrolled angry all the time (just some of the time) as he consciously self regulates himself all the time, as well as to distance himself from Plague/Thom Vynt, who was a little less virtuous (I am thinking I played him more Chaotic Good, in DnD terms, or maybe just Choatic near the end).
